Because the Nefertiti neck lift uses botulinum toxin injections, it’s important to be aware of the potential side effects associated with these. The procedure should only ever be carried out by an experienced medical professional.

Most commonly, people experience a small amount of temporary bleeding, mild swelling or bruising at the injection site. This usually subsides quickly and can be covered easily with make-up. You may also experience a mild headache after your treatment.

Less common are flu-like symptoms, nausea and some temporary facial weakness or drooping.

In more serious and rare cases, botulinum toxin injections have been recorded spreading to other areas of the face and causing breathing difficulties, muscle weakness, slurred speech and trouble swallowing. None of these symptoms have been experienced at Pearlish Skin Clinic to date, but if you notice any signs of facial weakness or difficulty breathing, you should seek medical advice immediately.
